Nature of service
HazardPulse is an independent natural hazard research platform operated by Coherence Energy Labs. It provides probabilistic hazard intelligence for earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornadoes based on publicly available government data.
HazardPulse is not an operational warning system. It does not issue official forecasts, watches, warnings, or advisories. Outputs are model-based probability estimates intended for research and informational purposes.
No warranty
All data, forecasts, and probabilistic outputs are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
HazardPulse makes no guarantee that any individual prediction will be correct. Probabilistic forecasts express estimated likelihoods, not certainties.
Official guidance requirement
Users must consult official government sources for authoritative hazard information and emergency decision-making:
- USGS for earthquake monitoring and alerts
- NHC for tropical cyclone forecasts and warnings
- NWS for weather forecasts and warnings
- SPC for severe weather outlooks and watches
HazardPulse outputs should never be used as the sole basis for evacuation, sheltering, or any emergency management decision.
Limitation of liability
Coherence Energy Labs and HazardPulse shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from:
- Use of or reliance on any forecast, prediction, or data from this platform
- Decisions made based on HazardPulse outputs
- Inability to access the platform
- Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in model outputs
By using this platform, you accept full responsibility for how you interpret and act upon the information provided.
License
HazardPulse platform code and original content are provided under the Apache License 2.0.
Government source data (USGS, NHC, SPC, NWS, NOAA) is in the public domain and carries no additional restrictions from HazardPulse.

The HazardPulse API is provided for fair use. The following conditions apply:
- Fair use — API access is intended for reasonable, non-abusive usage patterns.
- Rate limiting — requests are rate-limited. Exceeding limits may result in temporary throttling.
