Privacy Policy
HazardPulse does not collect personal data, require accounts, or track you.
The short version
We do not collect your personal information. No accounts, no login, no tracking, no ads.
The only cookie we set is your theme preference (dark or light mode). That is it.
Your approximate location is used at the network edge to personalize hazard data for your area, but it is never stored or sent to our servers.
Data we do not collect
- No personal information — no names, emails, addresses, or phone numbers.
- No accounts or login — there is nothing to sign up for.
- No analytics or tracking — no Google Analytics, no pixel trackers, no fingerprinting.
- No advertising — no ads, no ad networks, no third-party tracking scripts.
- No usage telemetry — we do not record which pages you visit or how long you stay.
Edge geolocation
HazardPulse uses Cloudflare Workers to personalize hazard data for your approximate location (city and country). This works using standard HTTP headers provided by Cloudflare's edge network.
- Geolocation is computed at the network edge by Cloudflare, not by our application.
- Your city and country are used to select relevant hazard data and are included in the page response.
- This information is never stored server-side, logged, or persisted. It is computed per-request and discarded.
- We do not collect or store your IP address.
Cookies
HazardPulse sets exactly one cookie:

This cookie is not a tracking cookie. It stores only your visual theme preference and is never sent to third parties.
Hazard data sources
All hazard data displayed on HazardPulse is sourced from publicly available government datasets:
- USGS — earthquake catalogs and ShakeMap
- NHC / NOAA — tropical cyclone advisories and forecast tracks
- SPC / NOAA — severe weather outlooks and storm reports
- NWS — weather observations and warnings
No private, proprietary, or user-contributed data is used.
External resources
HazardPulse loads the following external resources. Their respective privacy policies apply:
- OpenStreetMap tiles — map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap tile servers. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — web fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. See Google Fonts Privacy.
No other third-party scripts, trackers, or services are loaded.
